Triangle Strategy: Best Character Builds

When I first started playing Triangle Strategy, I had no clue how the build system worked. I just picked whatever skill sounded cool, dumped all my upgrade points into random stats, and wondered why my team was getting wrecked halfway through the game. I spent three days stuck on that final battle, because my main damage dealer had like 0 speed and couldn’t even act before the enemies one-shot him.

Turns out, the right builds turn your random units into absolute powerhouses, even on Hard mode. These simple, beginner-friendly setups are the ones that carried me through my first playthrough. No weird late-game unlocks required, you can use them from the moment you get the characters, and they’ll make your early game so smooth you won’t even know what a difficulty wall is.

1. Serenoa – The Unkillable Frontline Tank

Serenoa is your main character, and he can literally do everything, but the best build for him is a frontline tank that can also dish out damage.

Priority Stats: Defense and HP first, then Strength. You want him to be able to take hits all day, while still being able to kill enemies.

Key Skills to Unlock First: Regen (so he heals himself every turn), then Counterattack, so he hits back every time an enemy attacks him.

Best Weapon: A sword with extra defense, to make him even tankier.

I used this build for him the entire game, and he just stood in the middle of the enemy team, took all their hits, and killed them one by one. I never had to worry about him dying, even against the final boss. He’s so reliable, you can build him like this and never change it.

2. Frederica – The Magic Nuke

Frederica is your best magic damage dealer, hands down. Her magic growth is insane, and she can delete even the heaviest armored units with a single spell.

Priority Stats: Magic first, then Speed. You want her to act fast, so she can delete enemies before they can get close to her.

Key Skills to Unlock First: Fireball, then Ice Magic, and then MP Regen, so she doesn’t run out of mana mid-fight.

Best Weapon: A staff that gives extra magic damage, obviously.

Early game, I had so much trouble with those armored knights that my physical units couldn’t scratch. Frederica would just walk up and delete them in one hit. She carried me through so many tough maps, especially those ones where you’re outnumbered.

3. Roland – The Hit-and-Run Cavalry

Roland is your cavalry unit, and he’s perfect for hit-and-run tactics. He’s fast, he can move across the map fast, and he can take out weak enemies before they can react.

Priority Stats: Strength first, then Movement. You want him to be able to zip around the map.

Key Skills to Unlock First: Canter, so he can move after attacking, and then Lance Mastery, so he does extra damage to armored units.

Best Weapon: A lance that gives extra movement.

I used him to take out backline mages and archers all the time. He would ride in, kill them, and ride back to safety before anyone could counterattack. He was perfect for scouting too, because he could run ahead and see where the enemies were without getting spotted.

4. Benedict – The Support Master

Benedict isn’t the best damage dealer, but he’s the best support unit in the entire game. His buffs can turn your weak units into powerhouses.

Priority Stats: Magic first, then MP. You want him to have enough mana to cast buffs all fight.

Key Skills to Unlock First: Attack Up buff, Defense Up buff, and then the group Heal skill.

Best Weapon: A staff that gives extra magic, to make his buffs stronger.

I would have Benedict buff Serenoa at the start of every fight, and suddenly Serenoa was doing 50 damage per hit. It was insane. Benedict alone made every fight so much easier. Even on the hardest maps, his buffs turned my team into an unstoppable army.

5. Erador – The Unbreakable Wall

Erador is the tankiest unit in the game, no contest. If you need someone to hold a choke point, he’s your guy.

Priority Stats: Defense and HP first, nothing else matters. You want him to be able to take hits all day.

Key Skills to Unlock First: Provoke, so he can taunt all the enemies to attack him instead of your backline, and then Shield Bash, so he can stun enemies.

Best Weapon: A shield and axe that gives extra defense.

I had him hold a narrow bridge once, and 7 enemies attacked him one by one, and he barely took any damage. He just stood there, blocked the entire enemy army, and let my backline kill them all. It was ridiculous. If you have a narrow path you need to defend, Erador can do it by himself.

6. Hughette – The Long-Range Sniper

Hughette is your archer, and she can take out enemies from half the map away. She’s perfect for picking off weak enemies before they can get close.

Priority Stats: Strength first, then Speed. You want her to act fast.

Key Skills to Unlock First: Bow Mastery, so she does extra damage to fliers, and then Silent Arrow, so she can disable enemy skills.

Best Weapon: A bow that gives extra range.

Early game, those flying enemies were such a pain. Hughette would just shoot them out of the sky before they could even get close to my team. She was also great for taking out backline healers before they could heal their team. She could pick off problem enemies from across the map, before they could cause any trouble.

Final Thoughts

The biggest mistake I made early on was just picking random skills and stats. I thought more damage was always better, but that’s not how it works. The right build turns a weak rookie into an unstoppable powerhouse.

These builds are so simple, you don’t need any fancy late-game upgrades or anything. I used them from the very first chapter all the way to the end, and they never let me down. No matter what fight you’re going into, one of these setups will have you covered.

Once you start using them, you’ll see what I mean. Your team will go from getting wiped every other fight to clearing even the toughest maps without breaking a sweat.
