When I first finished my first Triangle Strategy playthrough, I was so confused. I got Frederica’s ending, and it was so bittersweet—Serenoa sacrificed himself to save the Roselle, but the whole continent fell into war? I thought that was the end of the story, until I started talking to other players and found out there were three other endings! And one of them was a perfect happy ending that I had no idea even existed.
I spent the next three playthroughs seeing all the endings, and I can tell you: every single one of them is completely different. They all have their own pros and cons, their own story beats, and none of them are “bad”—they’re just different ways the story can go, based on the choices you make. This guide will break down all four endings, what they mean, and exactly what you need to do to get the one you want.
1. Benedict’s Ending: The Unified Nation
This is the easiest ending to get, it’s the game’s default option. If you don’t do any persuading in Chapter 17, this is the one you’ll get automatically.
Benedict’s plan is all about stability and breaking Hyzante’s salt monopoly. He suggests allying with Aesfrost to take down Hyzante, so they can break the salt monopoly and make salt available to everyone. It sounds great at first, right?
And it works! Serenoa becomes the king of a unified Norzelia, they destroy Hyzante’s corrupt government, free the Roselle, and salt becomes cheap for everyone. The continent has decades of peace and prosperity, industry booms, and everyone is rich… well, almost everyone.
The catch? The free market ends up creating a massive wealth gap. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer, including the Roselle who can’t compete. Roland, who couldn’t stand to see the poor suffer, ends up joining a resistance movement with Idore to try and fix it. It’s not a bad ending, but it’s not perfect either.
How to unlock it: You don’t need any special choices throughout the game. Just go with the default vote in Chapter 17, no persuasion needed. It’s that simple.
2. Roland’s Ending: The Holy State
Roland’s ending is the second easiest one to get. His plan is about revenge and restoring his kingdom. He wants to ally with Hyzante to take down Aesfrost, avenge his family, and restore Glenbrook.
And it works! They defeat Gustadolph, take back Glenbrook, and unify the entire continent under Hyzante’s rule. Salt is plentiful, peace comes to Norzelia, and everyone lives in safety under the Goddess’s teachings.
But the problem is, Hyzante’s system doesn’t change. The Roselle are still slaves, anyone who questions the church’s teachings is executed or enslaved, and the whole system is still corrupt. Frederica can’t stand it, so she leaves the party, cuts her hair, and spends the rest of her life traveling around trying to spread the truth about what Hyzante did.
It’s a peaceful ending, but it’s a peace built on oppression. The rich and powerful are happy, but the marginalized people are still suffering.
How to unlock it: In Chapter 17, you just need to convince two of your allies to vote with Roland. Hughette will already vote for him, so you just need one more. Once you get the tiebreaker, pick Roland’s plan. No special early game choices needed.
3. Frederica’s Ending: Blessed Freedom
This is the ending I got on my first playthrough, and it’s the most emotional one. Frederica’s only goal is to free her people, the Roselle, from slavery. She doesn’t care about the kingdoms or the war, she just wants to get her people out of Hyzante and to the promised land of Centralia.
And they do it! They break into Hyzante, free all the Roselle, and lead them south to Centralia. Serenoa stays behind to fight Idore’s army, sacrificing himself to make sure nobody can follow the Roselle. The Roselle finally get their freedom, their own homeland, and they can live in peace without being slaves anymore.
But the rest of Norzelia? It falls apart. Without Serenoa and House Wolffort to keep the peace, the three nations start fighting each other, and the whole continent falls into a decades-long civil war. Benedict ends up working for Gustadolph just to keep his own lands safe. It’s a victory for the Roselle, but it costs the entire continent.
How to unlock it: This one is a bit harder, because Frederica is the only one who starts off voting for her plan. You need to convince three other allies to vote with her, which means you need a high enough Morality conviction. Once you get the tiebreaker, pick Frederica’s plan.
4. The Golden Ending: The True Perfect Ending
This is the one you probably won’t get on your first playthrough, like I didn’t. This is the true ending, the one where everyone wins, no sacrifices needed.
